Our Services Include:

Valuation:
we provide independent valuation services for governments of diamond producing countries, mining companies and other interested parties. On their behalf we value run of mine productions, buying office exports, prospecting samples and rough diamonds in general. We have developed our own unique valuation system and will train local personnel in its use.

Consultancy:
we provide advice at the highest levels within the diamond industry and governments, consulting on strategy, diamond marketing, certification, the control and management of alluvial diamond mining, the training of diamond valuators and sorters and on all diamond retail matters.

Localisation:
We have a proud track record of successful training and knowledge and skills transferal. DCi has always sought to empower the nationals of each country in which it works with the knowledge and experience to run their own industry.

Recent examples of DCi trainees’ career paths include:

  • The head of Sodiam, the Angolan diamond marketing body.
  • The two current Namibian GDVs, who were selected and trained by DCi during its time as Namibian GDV, before taking on the role for themselves.

DCi’s operations in Angola, Sierra Leone and Guinea are run by nationals of each respective country. The Liberia contract is managed by a Sierra Leonean.

Marketing:
we can assist in the organisation of diamond sales through the CSO, by tender or direct to the market. As an independent valuation company, we do not buy or sell diamonds or act as diamond brokers.

Analysis:
we offer our clients detailed computerised analysis of valuation statistics, modelling and up to date market reports.

Kimberley Process:
DCi valuators have an excellent working knowledge of the Kimberley Process (KP) and have assisted in the implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) in Sierra Leone, Guinea, Namibia and Angola since its formal adoption in 2003. Martyn Marriott is a member of the World Diamond Council, the international body established to counter conflict diamonds, and has been involved from the KP’s inception in 2000. Martyn, Benjamin and Luke Marriott have all been regular participants in KP meetings. In June 2017 DCI was appointed by the KP Monitoring team and the Government of Central African Republic (CAR) to audit the rough diamond stockpile held in Bangui.
